Short Bio

I am currently a full professor at the College of Computing - Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul , Brazil, since 2010.

I received the B.Sc. in Computer Science from the College of Computing - UFMS (2003). Afterwards, I received the master's degree (2006) and doctor's degree (2012) in Computer Science, both from the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics - University of São Paulo.

My research interests includes Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Gene Regulatory Networks, RNA-Seq data processing, Pattern Recognition and Theoretical Computer Science.

In addition to my academic activities, from 2013 to 2018 I collaborated as a volunteer in a dog shelter. In the beginning of 2019, I worked as a volunteer teacher at the Shanti Bhavan Residential School, located in Baliganapalli, India. Shanti Bhavan has been featured in the Netflix docuseries Daughters of Destiny.

I often support nonprofit animal rights organizations: Mercy for Animals, PETA, The Humane League, Animal Equality and Animals Australia.
